The Screw-in Milling Cutter Holder (Straight Shank Type) is a high-precision tool clamping system designed for CNC machine tools and milling centers. It is primarily used to connect the machine tool spindle (via the taper shank) to front-end screw-in indexable milling cutter heads (exchangeable heads). This system is widely applied in high-efficiency cutting operations across mold manufacturing, aerospace engineering, and general precision machining.

Working Principle

 

Clamping & Locking

Utilizes a threaded fastening mechanism where the external thread of the exchangeable cutter head screws directly into the internal thread of the holder's nose. Face contact and threaded pre-load combine to deliver massive clamping forces, preventing loosening during aggressive cuts.

Power Transmission

The machine spindle rotates the entire holder assembly. Torque flows smoothly from the taper shank through the main body down to the front threaded interface and into the cutting head.

High-Efficiency Machining

The rigid straight-shank design minimizes structural interference, enabling high-speed, high-feed milling operations. The quick-change head capability significantly reduces setup and downtime, as operators replace only the cutting head rather than the entire tool assembly.
