Working Principle

 

The working principle of the HSK-T Boring Bar Holder is primarily based on the high-precision dual-face contact technology (taper and flange) of the HSK interface, combined with a reliable mechanical clamping mechanism:

 

Dual-Face Positioning and High Rigidity Connection: The HSK interface adopts a dual-contact design where both the short tapered surface and the flange face fit tightly against the spindle. When the tool holder is inserted and clamped into the machine spindle, the tapered shank expands to mate securely with the spindle inner bore, while the flange face firmly abuts the spindle nose. This dual-surface contact significantly enhances bending rigidity as well as radial and axial repeatability.

 

High-Precision Clamping and Anti-Rotation Design: The boring bar or composite tool is securely locked inside the holder using high-strength bolts or mechanical/hydraulic clamping mechanisms. Furthermore, the HSK-T series is specially optimized for turn-milling centers, featuring precise orientation keyways that prevent any relative displacement or rotation of the tool under high-speed rotation or heavy cutting forces.

 

Efficient Coolant Delivery and Chip Evacuation: Many HSK-T holders are designed with internal coolant channels, allowing cutting fluid to be delivered directly through the spindle to the cutting edge. This provides effective cooling and lubrication, rapidly flushes away chips, and ensures continuous, stable, and high-precision boring operations.
